Contractors and home services

Contractor website design in South Carolina.

Somebody with water coming through a ceiling is on a phone, standing up, and not reading anything. Your site has about four seconds to give them a number to tap. That is the whole job.

  • From $1,500
  • Built phone-first
  • Local search included

How people actually find a contractor

Two situations, and they need opposite things. The emergency: a burst pipe, no heat in February, a tree through the roof. That person is on a phone, they are not comparing three companies, and they will call whoever gives them a number fastest.

The planned job: a kitchen remodel, a system replacement. That person spends two weeks looking, wants to see finished work, and wants to know you will still exist in a year. Same website, two completely different jobs, and most contractor sites are built for neither.

What you get

  • A tap-to-call number fixed to the screen on mobile, visible on every page without scrolling
  • A page for each service you offer, because somebody searching for water heater replacement should not land on a general plumbing page
  • A page for each town you cover, so you turn up for the places you actually drive to
  • A quote request form that asks the few things you need to price a job, rather than twelve fields nobody fills in
  • A gallery of finished work that does not take thirty seconds to load on a phone
  • License number, insurance and years in business shown plainly, because homeowners look for them
  • Your Google Business Profile set up properly, which for a local trade often matters more than the website

Showing up in your service area

For a trade business, most of the calls come from the map results rather than the regular blue links. That is decided by your Google Business Profile, and it is included with every build we do: correct categories, every service listed individually, and a service area that matches where you actually go.

If you want that managed monthly rather than set up once, we do that too. It is on the Google Business Profile page.

What it costs

Our Basic package starts at $1,500 one-time, plus care and hosting from $199 a month. Premier, which adds a content system you edit yourself and a private console, starts at $3,500 plus care from $299 a month. Larger builds are quoted to scope, and you get the real figure in writing before you agree to anything. The full pricing is on the home page.

A contractor site usually needs more pages than average, because there is one for every service and one for every town. That is quoted in the written scope up front, not discovered halfway through.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell leads, and we don't resell you to a lead network. The calls your website generates are yours.
  • We don't build on WordPress, Wix or Squarespace, and we don't use the trade-specific site mills that put four hundred contractors on the same template.
  • We don't guarantee a position on Google. Anyone promising you the top spot for a competitive trade term is guessing.
  • We don't lock you into a contract. Care plans run month to month, and the site transfers to you at launch either way.

More on the process page

It helps, but for a trade business the bigger lever is usually your Google Business Profile, because most emergency calls come from the map results rather than the website. We set that up with every build for exactly that reason. Anyone selling you a website as the whole answer is not telling you the full picture.

For the towns you genuinely work in, yes, and it is one of the most effective things on a contractor site. What does not work is twenty near-identical pages with the town name swapped, which Google treats as one thin page. Each one has to say something true about your work there.

Not at all, and it is the normal case for trades. Google supports a hidden address with a service area, which is the correct setup for you. Listing a home address publicly when you should be using a service area is a common reason listings get suspended.

Yes. We keep the form to the few things you actually need to price or schedule the job, because a twelve-field form on a phone gets abandoned. If you would rather every job start with a phone call, we build it that way instead, and say so.

Four to eight weeks for most builds. If you have a hard date, tell us before you sign and we will say plainly whether it is realistic rather than agreeing and missing it. If it is not, we can sometimes get a smaller version live first and finish the rest after.

Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, remodeling, landscaping, pest control and the rest of the home services trades. The structure is the same across them: emergency work needs a phone number fast, planned work needs finished photos and a reason to trust you.

Ads bring calls the day you turn them on and stop the day you turn them off. A website and a properly managed listing build slowly and keep working. If you need calls this month, ads. If you are tired of renting your phone calls, the other. Most contractors eventually do both, starting with ads while the rest catches up.

A great deal, and more than almost anything on your website. Homeowners let a stranger into their house, so they read reviews closely. Asking every satisfied customer, and replying to all of them, is the highest-return thing you can do that costs nothing.
